- You will present a weather report for a city in Atlantic Canada. Your report will be a minimum of 2 minutes in length and contain current weather conditions and a long range forecast for three upcoming days.
- Who is Charlie Kennedy and what is his profession?
- What are Charlies main duties at Gagetown?
- Where is Gagetown?
- Why do meteorologists sometimes get the weather forecasts wrong? It is constantly changing and sometimes we don’t account for all of these changes.
- What is a radiosonde? A weather balloon is sent up twice a day at the same time, all around the world.

- Does atmospheric pressure rise or fall as the balloon rises?
- Does temperature rise or fall as the balloon rises?
- At what height is the temperature 3ᵒC?
- How long did it take for the balloon, after it was released, to reach this height?
- What might occur if the air temperature and the dew point temperature were the same?
- What direction is the wind coming from at the height of 572 m/MSL?
- What happens to the speed of the wind as the radiosonde travels from the surface up to 2450 m/MSL?
- Imagine you were flying a kite a Base Gagetown when the radiosonde was released. In which compass direction would you look to see your kite if it were 521 m above the surface of the ground? Remember that the wind direction in the chart indicates where the wind comes from.
